In this story’s universe, seventh grader Oliver Watson from Omaha, Nebraska is the third richest person in the world. The combination of unique plot, various settings, and relatable characters makes this book a worthwhile read. What if one of the most powerful and influential people in the world was secretly a twelve-year-old in middle school whose top priority was running for Class President? What if this particular seventh grader was the staple class idiot? These questions are answered in the hilarious book "I am a Genius of Unspeakable Evil and I want to be your Class President". ![]() The hellbound heart novella6/30/2023 ![]() After years of this, the last remaining magicians gather to resurrect Ragowski, a member of their order killed by the Hell Priest three years before. The Hell Priest, a demonic Cenobite known to some of them as "Pinhead" (a nickname the Cenobite abhors), is murdering the world's true magicians, practitioners of true magic. The book was the first in which the Hell Priest was officially given a name by Clive Barker, who disliked the nickname 'Pinhead' given his character by others. Occult detective Harry D'Amour must journey into Hell to rescue his friend and stop the Hell Priest's plans. ![]() The book concerns the Hell Priest, the demonic Cenobite nicknamed "Pinhead", and his efforts to gain power. A young author is trying to get his novel published, walking around the publishing house and delivering copies of his manuscript to different employees, who, despite the protagonist's persistence, eventually don't read it. "Blue Mountains" is also about life in general. ![]() Kafka - and here I'll stop using him because I don't think it's all that similar - wrote about life in general, or life as a process where you're declared guilty and sentenced (to death) for reasons unknown to you. ![]() ![]() ![]() And just as Kafka's "Process" (which this movie was most likely compared to) is often narrowed to a "criticism of authoritarian rule", so is this movie commonly interpreted as (merely) a comedy that satirizes bureaucracy. The director, Eldar Shengelaia, remembers newspapers praising "Blue Mountains", writing that "this is Kafka!" after it premiered on Cannes film festival in 1985. ![]() |
